AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL teams up with Dublin's premiere live music venue THE VILLAGE to present UP IN ARMS, a weekender with one of the most exciting music line-ups assembled in 2005. The gigs are part of Amnesty International's campaign for a global Arms Trade Treaty to bring the trade in weapons under control and to ensure the introduction of tough new legislation to regulate Ireland's €5bn a year trade in military and dual use goods. UP IN ARMS takes place over three days and three nights featuring unrivalled live performances and DJ sets from over 18 artists including Mark Geary.

It's a fantastic double-header on the World Café with host David Dye featuring The Frames & Mark Geary. In the first hour, Irish rock band The Frames stop by to perform music from their sixth album Burn the Maps. This release could finally help them get some well-deserved recognition in the U.S. In hour two, we've got another great Irish artist, Mark Geary. Now based in New York, he began his career playing alongside Jeff Buckley at the legendary Sin-é Café. He'll be on the Café to play new songs from his terrific sophomore effort Ghosts.
Mark Geary will be playing a very special show in the Roisin Dubh, Galway on Tuesday 26th April. The show forms part of a live broadcast on TODAY FM's Pet Sounds to celebrate the release of Sharon Shannon's new album. Also appearing on the night will be Damien Dempsey, Emmett Tinley, Joe Chester and Sharon and her band. For those who can't make it, the show will be broadcast live on Tuesday on Today Fm and on the web at www.todayfm.com from 7pm to 10pm. There are also tickets for the show available in Redlight Records in Galway.
